Engagement Photos! [11 Dec 2009|08:22pm] 2010_weddings [jennberry] We had our engagement photos taken a few weeks ago, and now that school is coming to an end I found some time to post them. I'm so happy with the way they turned out. I love that even my FH was able to relax and enjoy the experience, since he's not the photogenic type. Our photographer is absolutely amazing. Venue help! [09 Dec 2009|12:03am] 2010_weddings [groovysistersun] I am at my wits end trying to find a decent venue. We're in Riverside county, California and I'm looking for anything anywhere close, up to an hour away. Have any of you come across any particular weird/unique/tacky etc wedding venues in your searches? Cheap places are a plus... I'd love to get married somewhere ridiculous, like an old roller disco or anywhere outside that doesnt look like a beautifully manicured golf course. Any help would be appreciated, ideas as well. And did you hit a plateau?? I am losing mass amounts of weight.. I took off 40 pounds, still need to take off 20 more. I work for the YMCA aka free gym membership and I also joined weight watchers! Over the past day we have processed around 11 million jobs out of the 12 million that were in queue at that time. Please bear in mind that over this past day, more jobs for notifications are also created. So while the queue has been dropping, we are still not fully caught up at this point, due to backlog and new jobs. We have roughly 3 million jobs still pending that involve the notification system in some manner. We had hoped we could have fully cleared the queue in a day, but unfortunately we can't clear it too quickly, since we need the rest of the site to operate normally. From our current perspective on the amount of jobs that are left in queue, and how many it has processed thus far, we believe it will take around another 8 - 12 hours to process everything. First time Dress Shopping! [06 Dec 2009|09:24pm] 2010_weddings [a10love] [ mood | giddy ] Hi guys, I'm back! I joined over the summer, posted a bunch then and then kinda slacked off (moved, settled in, job hunted, got a job, etc...) Before I post the pictures, I'm just gonna say that I'm not really considering any of the gowns I tried on. The ones I tried on were to see how certain cuts would look on me. The gown I want is this one: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_6k4rVTdBxrg/SN3EDyXtEkI/AAAAAAAAAsk/07brDAz6Pm0/s400/kirstie_kelly.jpg and I can't actually afford the designer version, but found a place that will make a (cough)knockoff(cough) for about what I'm comfortable spending on a gown. So any of the ones below had elements of what I was looking for. Although one or two was just for fun.... XD</p>As a side note, I thought you were supposed to go UP in gown sizes? But the best fits for me were a size below my pant size...That was a bit odd. Oh, also. I was hesitant to go to Davids Bridal, having heard horror stories from both my friends AND brides here, but it was the closest and so I ended up making an appointment to try on dresses there. The woman helping me (Evelyn, I believe was her name), as well as the other consultants running around were just fantastic (and it made me feel just a little bad that I won't be getting anything there...) and very helpful and sweet. I went by myself, because I had to squeeze it in between the new job(s) and other errands/xmas stuff, and my family and bridesmaids are spread out in MI, so I wasn't able to coordinate anyone coming with me. Evelyn asked who I had for support and I said "No one," and she replied "That's wrong, I'm here!" and it made me feel more welcome than I had expected there. At the end they didn't try to push me into a purchase or anything, it was very nice. The only bad part about the visit was some lady at the beginning, who was pushing her photography company and quite insulted me by implying my Uncle (who IS a professional photographer, by the way) wasn't good enough to do a wedding.
