Yup, so I won a YoSD Sara head and bought a body from DoA. Now I'm prowling the threads and ebay for stuff I need to bring my Esme to life! Esme is the small version of my SD10 Megu, Hinoto. So I need the red eyes, black and white wigs, and cute outfits. eBay has tantalized me again and again! Arg! I'll hold off on the carrier though, but the coffin one is neat. I chose a new faceup artist on DoA since my previous one jacked her price from $55 to $105, ouch! So yeah, I'm excited on bringing a new girl to life. Her personality is still nascent, but she is in many regards like Hinoto (from X/1999 for the otaku out there!)

WTB: Yo SD Kira and Volks Kimono

So I won and bought a Volks kimono set for my SD10 Megu. Seller emails me today that as she was preparing my package, she realized that the kimono was stolen from her shop!!! WTF?! So she wants me to choose another item or get a refund. Now I would rather much have the kimono as I've been searching one for a long time, but looks like I'll get refunded now. :( Should I post the pic of the kimono here and DoA? I'm thinking that the thief may try to sell it. O_O

Also, I'm really debating if I should get the YoSD Kira that's on DoA. I really want a YoSD Megu, but since I'll be completely redoing her faceup to match my Megu, it won't matter which of the 4 sisters I get.

I know I've been meaning to post pics and updates and stuff, but I've been busy and going through so much. ^^* I'm glad the holidays allow me some time for dolls though!

Ideas on male and female bodies

Hiya peeps,

I need a recommendation on what bodies to use.

For female, I have a DIM Minimee head of me, and would like a more mature body to match the resin. I have the head on a SD10 body, but it looks strange.

For a SD13 head, I would like a more mature body as well. What other bodies are compatible besides a SD17? I heard the Jacen model looks good with a SD13 head.

Any ideas?

Sabiki's New Eyes

Yay! The group order for Mystic Eyes have finally arrived. I ordered a pair of custom Machine eyes in grey since Sabiki is a cyborg. The grey is harder to see than the yellow or purple, but I love them. Once the eyes were put it, Sabiki seems more human. It's a little eerie, but he's almost able to speak!

I've been lying low for awhile now, I apologize to those who are wondering! I do read my 'Friends' page though. :) It's been so crazy that I haven't been doing much doll stuff other than moving Sabiki around in my room and changing his outfit. Poor guy needs new clothes! I need to find someone who can sew for SOOM Sabik. #_# He's so leggy- I'm envious!

His implant is uber cool, so I posted a close-up pic of it. I love how Lilykoi painted delicated veins around the implant, even on his ear!! It shows how Sabiki's implant never healed, always a constant, painful reminder of his past and what's been done to him- the awful invasion of his person.

Sabiki!!

He arrived!! Lilykoi is working on him now. What made me guffaw was how she was amazed at the overall hugeness of him- including his manhood! O_O

My new room is smaller than the one I have now, but I am determined to dedicate a whole table for my dollies! If I'm lucky, I can squeeze in a drawer or two in the extra room for dollie stuffs. My roomies are used to my dolls around, so it won't be news to have them there- though all eight will be there at once!

Ugh, it's over 100 degrees this week, and I'm sweltering. The hardest is to get the energy to get out of the house to do errands. I just want to lie in a pool of cherry lemonade. But nay. I can't wait for the chilly Fall.

I love this outfit, the outfit hates me. Limhwa girls are very busty, but since this was a corset-style, I figure it would be okay since all that needs to be done is to lace it up! But no, Sunako is very busty. Her corset wouldn't close! So to adjust, I rotated the whole corset so that the laceups are in the back. You can't tell it's backwards, can you? I think it looks nice.

Then there are the wings. I love them! But they are very difficult to put on. Smears of paint got all over her back, arms, and hands -oh no!
I was dismayed. Mr. Clear Eraser removed most of it, but I was depressed. The wings are a tight fit, and the wig she normally wears doesn't quite fit the gap between the wings. So she has to borrow Hinoto's extra huge wig, but the wig fibers are so extra silky that they can squeeze through any gap. Volks wigs are very nice!

Anyway, after the pics, I had a tough time removing the wings, and yes more paint got on her. I was so close to using scissors, but didn't. No more wings for Sunako.

Yes, I know her eyebrows don't match her hair. Never fear! I'm planning to have a wig made for her. She will have dark brown/red/black hair.

I still haven't received any communications from him. It's been months and I REALLY want my commission. I don't mind it being late or delayed, as long as there's constant and open lines of communication.

I know he's some middlemand for a doll company, and it's keeping him busy, but I'd really appreciate an email on my order status.

In other news, Sunako got her dress from Lady M. I didn't get to see her in person at Dollectable, but the dress is gorgeous. The wings do not go on her easily, and in the attempt, I got silver paint all over my doll's arms and hands! O_O Magic Eraser removed most of the paint, but it was scary seeing all the marks.

Sesshoumaru got a new 'Softly She Walks' outfit. It's more of a winter outfit, but he likes it anyway!

Her name is 'Lai Fa,' or 'Beautiful Flower' in Chinese. I'm sending her off to Nina (if she agrees) to put a freckle on her lip to match me and eyelashes. Also, I'm hoping to get my second head painted by her. No one thinks Lai Fa looks like me, sadly. She's pretty, and has my features, she's not a mirror image. I think it's the way the faceup is done, and the resin is lighter. I don't mind have my doll prettier than me though!

Missing Out on Dollectable

I'm bummed. I just found out yesterday that Saturday AND Sunday are days off for me, which would be perfect. But I still can't go! I have a stupid cold that I caught from work (work in outpatient pharmacy) that has travelled up to my nose and now I'm all stuffy with a sore throat.

For some reason, I didn't get a paycheck yesterday so that really sucks. No money! I refuse to put more dents in my credit card since it needs to be as sparkly as possible for a credit check for a house that my roommates and I are hoping hard for.

I figure I can just drive there to meet folks and dolls and learn from the panels, but I think I need to be a good student and take care of my health and actually work on the grant proposal assignment and epidemiology homework that I've pushed aside for too long.

*pouts*

*whines*

*sighs*

There will be pics for sure, but I'm bummed.

Gotta make rice porridge now.

Okay, so it's not usual for me to fall in love with a boy doll THIS quick, but whoa!

What attracts me is that he's a CYBORG! Wowsers. I'm itching to own this big bad boy. Yes, he's huge- 80cm. As far as I know, 70cm is the tallest, so this breaks that record.

The jointed fingers are ultra new on the scene, which is turning all heads. For me, I'm wanting to see a master airbrusher go at it with those 'implants.' O_O

She's on her way! Denny has finally given my the EMS #. Now the fun begins as I wait for my package to travel around the world.

So far, everyone's responded to me about my commissions except 2 folks. One I gave up on, another disappointment, but then again I didn't spend any money so I can live with that. The other I'm getting annoyed with. If anyone know what has happened to Moggie, let me know?

I sold one the wigs that came too small for Sunako. Yay.

The dress that I lost on eBay is being offered to me via 'Second Chance,' which I nabbed. It's utterly strange, but I think Sunako may like it.

I survived my first year of pharmacy school! I'm worn out. I need a vacation!

Yup, the qipao, or cheongsam that somone on DoA agreed to make for me disappeared for awhile so missed the promised deadline. But today he contacted me that he finished the outfit and whether or not I was still interested.

Yes I am! My MiniMee head is delayed, so the timing is perfect. My mom's birthday and Mother's Day present is extremely late, but she understands. Better late than never!

I didn't disappear, so no worries!

I've been caught up in block exams, finals, OSCEs, school functions, trips in the Bay Area, and bouncing between my school house and my house house in the Central valley.

Good news- I'm almost done with my very first year in pharmacy school! Yay!!!! One more year and I'll be out in the real world. O_O My measly salary will still be $20.82, but it'll be enough and I won't have to take out as much loans.

It's been a grueling year, managing my time between classes, work, student leadership, school functions, friends and family, so dolls have had little time for devotion.

But it's been worth it. When I started school, I wanted to pursue a residency in infectious diseases once I graduate, but now that I've put my foot in the realm of pharmacy, I realize that there are literally endless possibilities for my career path. Now I'm interested in management, working in the biotech field as a consultant, as a clinician in ambulatory care, MAYBE a hospital administrator, or even a professor.

Me a professor...never in my wildest dreams did I ponder this before starting school. But it sounds intriguing.

This week is block exam week, and stress is rampant. I've never eaten out so much nor imbibed so much caffeine. I probably gained 5 pounds. But I have the whole summer to burn it off.

I can't WAIT for summer! Smeagol is free!

We start out summer projects as interns at Kaiser Permanente. We are itching to know what evil lies in the minds of our project coordinators.

I'm taking summer classes for my public health degree as well as working on the research topic for the pharmacy leadership group I joined. We have to contact over 800 schools to pry information-that'll be a challenge, but fun since it's a break from school.

So we'll see. I wanna do something fun to, maybe a camping trip!

So for those who care- I'm not dead. Just tired. No new doll stuffs to share. All the commissions I have now have been flaking on me. Becca came back from the abyss, so she's working on my stuff I hope. Moggie hasn't replied to my email...which I'm getting very annoyed about. Denny has yet to send me news on my MiniMee. It was supposed to be my mom's birthday and mother's day gift, but it's now very late. *sigh*

Because people are not keeping their word about fulfilling commissions, I'm starting to feel hesitant and not trusting anymore. Maybe it's stress talking, but then maybe there is some truth.
